Suggested Route:
Siliguri → NH-10 → Teesta → Kalimpong
The journey is relatively short but includes winding mountain roads as you climb towards Kalimpong.
The drive along the Teesta is particularly scenic, with beautiful river and valley views along the way.
Our suggestion:
Take a short break around the Teesta section for your pet to stretch, drink water and enjoy some fresh air before continuing uphill.

• Kalimpong is well suited to pets who enjoy cooler weather and outdoor exploration.
• The approach from Siliguri includes winding mountain roads, so pets prone to motion sickness may need extra care.
• Viewpoints and hill trails can have uneven or steep sections. Keep your pet close and under control.
• Keep your pet leashed around viewpoints, roads and public areas.
• Weather can change quickly in the hills, so carry a light warm layer or rain protection for your pet as appropriate.
• Carry sufficient drinking water during sightseeing and nature walks.
• Avoid allowing pets to wander freely in forested or unfamiliar areas.
• Start longer walks during the morning or late afternoon, when conditions are generally more comfortable.
• The Teesta route can have stretches with limited stopping opportunities, so plan breaks thoughtfully.
• Carry your pet's regular food, water bowl, leash, waste bags, bedding, towel, basic first-aid supplies and any regular medication.

DAY 1 | SILIGURI → KALIMPONG
Drive from Siliguri towards Kalimpong via NH-10 and the Teesta valley.
Take a comfortable break en route before continuing into the hills.
Check into your stay and keep the rest of the day relaxed.
Allow your pet to settle in before taking a gentle walk around the property and enjoying the mountain views.
The hills begin with a slow afternoon and a good walk.
DAY 2 | DEOLO HILL & DURPIN DARA
Start the morning with a relaxed visit to Deolo Hill.
Enjoy the open mountain views and give your pet time to explore where permitted.
Later, head towards Durpin Dara Hill for more panoramic views.
Return to the property for a leisurely afternoon and some downtime.
Spend the evening enjoying the cooler mountain air with your pet.
DAY 3 | YELLOW CANYON & 7TH MILE
After breakfast, head out to explore Yellow Canyon and 7th Mile View Point.
Keep the sightseeing relaxed, with short walks and scenic stops rather than trying to cover too much.
Continue onwards for your next destination or begin the return journey, depending on whether Kalimpong is being done as a standalone 2N/3D escape or as part of a longer North Bengal circuit.

Kalimpong is best enjoyed with nowhere to hurry to.
Take the mountain roads slowly, stop for the views, let your pet enjoy the fresh air and leave enough time in the day for simply sitting together and watching the hills.
And if you're travelling through North Bengal, Kalimpong makes a wonderful slow-down between the longer drives.
